Writing in the Galleries a Good Thing

Teachers, would you like a free and educational field trip for your students? ¹û¶³´«Ã½ ¹û¶³´«Ã½ AmeriCorps and the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum have created Writing in the Galleries (WIG), a unique program to strengthen literacy skills through art.

The program engages the imagination of students in grades 1 - 12 and provides grade specific activities in a museum environment.

Thanks to a Learn and Serve Grant from the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ System, free admission and transportation are available for all Vermilion Parish Elementary and Middle Schools as well as Alice Boucher, Ossun, Westside and Live Oak elementary schools in ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Parish.
